This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Advanced Podiatrist with a special interest in the management of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions to work within Orthopaedics in NHS Ayrshire and Arran. Applications are invited from experienced clinicians who have an advanced range of clinical skills for the above post based within the Orthopaedic Department at University Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock.
You will be an advanced musculoskeletal podiatrist with a wish to create a patient centred quality based end to end pathway for foot and ankle patients within Ayrshire and Arran. Deeper clinical thinking and being able to challenge current practice will be essential. You will carry out or call on investigations and examinations by other disciplines, which would be out with normal scope of podiatry practice in order to complete your assessment.
You will provide a highly specialist resource to Orthopaedics and MSK Podiatry and have active involvement in Clinical Governance, Clinical Effectiveness and Research Methodologies where it is expected that you will participate in national research projects.
You will lead in the development of own specialist service, e.g. orthopaedic triage and will be a key contributor to the development of new specialist multi-disciplinary services within own area of practice. You should be able to demonstrate advanced skills, musculoskeletal assessment and treatment. Continuous service improvement is an essential part of this role.
You will have a keen interest in personal development and in-service training; It is essential that you are educated to Masters level in Podiatry, are HCPC registered, certificate in steroid injections and have IR(ME)R entitlement .
Car driver owner essential.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days.
