Opportunities have arisen to join our advanced nurse practitioner team within the Medicine for the Elderly specialty based within Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership. Working within community hospital, intermediate care and the community environment. This is a dynamic specialty that is changing and developing to meet the needs of older people in Dundee.
This role is one in which you would be expected to act as a clinical leader, practicing autonomously in assessment, diagnosis and treatment, including prescribing for older people who are likely to have complex underlying co-morbidities. The applicant would be expected to work in a manner in keeping with the principles of person centeredness, supporting the delivery of safe and effective care incorporating the four pillars of advanced practice.
Applicants should have or be working towards a post graduate diploma in advanced practice. We may also consider applications for trainee posts and will support the development of individuals to meet advanced practice competencies. This will be supported using a triangulation approach of academic courses, mentorship and clinical supervision. Applicants for trainee posts should have demonstrated evidence of undertaking courses relevant to the advanced practice pathway and be able to demonstrate the ability to study at level 11.
Remuneration associated with Trainee posts will be at Band 6 as per Annex 21 during completion of qualifications and assurance of competencies.
Applicants should be registered on either Part 1 or Part 12 of the NMC Register, with extensive post – registration experience and be able to demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and professional practice preferably within Older People/ Medicine for the Elderly setting.
