The Healthcare provision is based around a model of care specifically aimed at delivering Primary Care, Mental Health and Addiction services.
The role of the Healthcare Assistant is to support professional healthcare staff to deliver care within the healthcare centre/establishment in line with the standards and policies of healthcare provision.
The role involves assisting the healthcare staff team to ensure that prisoners receive the highest standard of healthcare service and to contribute to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients by being an active and supportive member of the team.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
