Are you looking for a new challenge in 2020 and beyond? The pharmacy team at University Hospital Monklands is looking for an Assistant Technical Officer (ATO) to join us.
This rotational position will work within the different areas of the pharmacy department including aseptic services, dispensary and distribution as well as the ward environment of the hospital. Your main duties will involve the safe and efficient receipt, storage and supply of medicines. Ideally, you will have experience working within community or hospital pharmacy; however we are happy to receive applications from candidates who are keen to start their pharmacy career and have relevant transferrable skills and abilities (refer to person specification in job pack for further details)
Applying candidates should already hold a Scottish Vocational Qualification Pharmacy Services Level II or working towards or equivalent experience. Candidates should be capable of understanding and working within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and show a commitment to CPD, self-motivation and an ability to work unsupervised.
An ability to plan, prioritise and organise workload and to work under pressure is essential along with an ability to take direction and work under your own initiative and as part of a team.
Candidates should show good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate customer awareness/focus. Finally, an ability to adapt to changing circumstances and a willingness to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department is required within this role.
