Post – Consultant in Emergency Medicine
University Hospital Hairmyres
Applications are invited for the post of consultant in Emergency Medicine. The 2 posts will bring the total number of consultants up to 14 and will facilitate an extended senior presence. There are currently 10 Full time and 2 Part time consultants, 3 Registrars from the West of Scotland training scheme, 6 junior doctors, 2 Clinical development Fellows and 10 GP sessions. In addition robust cohort of Physician Associates, Advanced Nurse practitioners and MINTS nurses (Minor Injury Nurse Treatment Service) are key members of the team delivering clinical care within the ED
The department sees 64,000 new patients a year (of which approximately 20% are children) and currently operates clinical decision protocols to expedite and facilitate the care of emergency medical patients attending the department.
