Applications are now invited for individuals to join the Scottish Ambulance Service as an Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) for intakes in 2020.


As an ACA, you will be responsible for delivering high quality care and safe transportation for non emergency patients from their homes to hospital and clinic appointments. You will work 5 days out of 7 which may include weekend working. You must therefore have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be a team player and have the ability to deal with a range of people who are often at their most vulnerable. This is a really important role within the Service and offers a vital service to the people of Scotland.

Applicants should have 2 passes at Standard Grade/’O’ grade / Nat 4 or equivalent in English and Maths and due to time restraints, all applicants must have D1 category entitlement on their driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points before submitting an application.

As part of the selection process, you will undertake a fitness test and interview, full details of which will be sent to you after short listing. In return, we offer a training salary of £16,460 pro rata per annum rising to £19,945 pro rata upon successful completion of a 20 week training period. This will further increase to £21,947 pro rata with annual increments.
