If successful in your application, your role with this position will be to support the Quality Programme Manager in the delivery of a portfolio of Quality projects designed to support delivery of the highest quality health and care services in NHS Lanarkshire through monitoring and using performance, quality and safety data to identify issues that need to be addressed and taking follow up action to improve the quality of the care and services delivered.


The post will primarily support the Adverse Events team who are responsible for the development and management of an incident management implementation plan to ensure all adverse events are reported, acted upon and analysed as appropriate and that the knowledge thus gained is regularly disseminated to improve quality, patient safety and performance of the organisation.


In addition, the adverse events team are responsible for developing systems and procedures related to management of data and reporting and organisational processes for Duty of Candour reporting.


Applying candidates should be educated to degree level and hold a qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience (e.g. demonstrable experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Improvement post). Experience of working in support of clinicians involved in Quality Assurance or Quality Improvement projects, or a background in a data management related role as well as experience in presentation of data and results orally or by poster and experience of maintaining databases to support Quality Assurance or Quality improvement will be required for this post. Candidates should have a high level of IT skills and be highly competent with all Microsoft office applications e.g. word, PowerPoint, excel etc. Prior experience of working in and with multidisciplinary team and existing knowledge of the principles of the quality strategy and national quality agenda is essential with this role, along with existing extensive knowledge of medical terminology to inform data analysis and reporting will be required for this position. Candidates should have prior experience of data analysis and report writing skills, and knowledge of the importance of data quality. In addition, candidates should have facilitation, influencing and negotiating skills as well as analytical and problem solving skills. Candidates should be able to provide evidence of CPD and PDP.
