Applications are invited from staff qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse with valid NMC Registration, educated to degree level in nursing or with equivalent experience, or working towards a Masters degree. Due to the specialist nature of the role relevant Non Medical Prescribing Qualification or the desire to work toward this is desirable

FV CAMHS provides assessment and interventions to children aged up to 18 years old, with moderate to severe complex mental health problems, and their families. 

The post has been developed to support the provision of care to young people presenting with a diversity of complex mental health needs. The post holder will be required to see children and young people with a range of psychological and mental health difficulties, offer consultation to other professions. They will also participate in the emergency overdose assessment rota and on-call system.

Experience of working with children and young people with complex problems will be required. We have a varied in-house programme of supervision and CPD, there are opportunities for external training, and we have good links with partner agencies and national bodies. We are a combined psychology and psychiatry service, a number of specialist teams and projects, including early intervention and are developing our intensive support services. Evidence of direct management and leadership experience would be advantageous as well as evidence or experience of change management and service development and improvement

The post holder will also be involved in providing consultation and support to a wide range of professionals

Candidates must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and responsible for ensuring their ongoing professional development as well as being committed to active involvement in implementing service developments. The post holder will be expected to work across the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
