Who We Are

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is an education and training body and a special health board within NHS Scotland, with responsibility of developing and delivering education and training for the healthcare workforce in Scotland.  The Medical Direcorate is responsible to the NES Board and through the Board to Scottish Government for the commissioning and delivery of postgraduate medical education in Scotland.


What you'll do

Key tasks will include but are not restricted to;

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support service to the Training Management workstream
  • Undertake effective scheduling and organisation of teaching/courses for GP trainees across Scotland
  • Liaise with various stakeholders with regards to organisation and delivery of teaching/courses
  • Provide administrative support for these events on the day if required
  • Diary and planner management
  • Attend meetings and take notes or formal minutes as required
  • Prepare and type emails, reports and other documents as required
  • Updating of databases/planners and ensuring data is accurate
  • Undertake other administrative tasks as and when required


What you'll bring

These will include but are not restricted to;

  • Relevant experience in an administration/clerical role
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Excellent computer and database skills
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience of working in a busy team environment is essential
