As an autonomous practitioner the post holder will plan and implement maternity care to ‘high’ and ‘low’ risk women within an integrated maternity service.
The post holder will lead the management of low risk pregnancies and births however will be required to work closely with the multi-professional team within the acute and primary care setting when dealing with high risk women providing a systematic approach to care.
In the absence of the Community Midwifery Team Leader the post holder may be required to provide cover to ensure effective operation of the team.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
