This permanent band 3 post covering Coll and Tiree (base negotiable),  involves working under the indirect supervision of a Podiatrist to provide footcare treatments  for complex nail and skin pathologies, basic wound care and health promotion activites follow ing a designated care plan as determined by a Podiatrist.  In addition you will be required to support the Podiatrist during nail surgery sessions. The post holder will work with colleagues in social care teams who provide personal footcare. You will treat patients in a variety of clinical settings including patients own homes.


Candidates  should have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with people. A background in care/nursing would be advantageous. Full training for the role will be provided with the successful applicant required to complete College of Podiatry Assistant Practioner training  within one year of taking up the post with the support of a mentor from the Oban Podiatry team.


A working knowledge of the geographical area would be desirable.


You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively to various work locations throughout NHS Highland Argyll & Bute HSCP.
