We have a part time vacancy for a suitably qualified secretary to join the team of paediatric Speech and Language Therapists in Midlothian. We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic person with excellent spoken and written communication and organisational skills. The post holder will be based at Newbattle Medical Centre, but will on occasion be required to travel to / work from other locations across NHS Lothian.
The successful applicant will work as one of the team of therapists and assistants delivering a community based service to children and families in Midlothian. Experience of copy/audio typing reports, organising case files, booking/cancelling appointments and ordering and managing office supplies is essential. Knowledge of NHS systems such as TRAK/PECOS/SSTS is desirable but training can be given. Experience of working with other agencies within Health or Education would be an advantage.
The Speech and Language Therapy service is innovative and supportive and we are committed to providing a high quality service focused on the child’s needs. Support will be available from our other Band 4 clerical and administrative staff and senior SLTs and there are opportunities for further training and development within the service.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
