We seek to appoint a highly-motivated Clinician with an enthusiasm for Older Adult Psychiatry. The post holder will be welcomed into a friendly and forward thinking team of Consultants and Sp Drs, where peer support is valued and protected.
This is a post covering the older adult population of Skye & Lochalsh, Wester Ross, West Sutherland & a small sector of Inverness. The community mental health teams are well established, comprising of CPN’s, Psychology input, CBT nurse therapist, Social Workers, CPN’s for addictions, mental health support workers and administrative staff. Mental health provision in the area is led by a substantive consultant who will be the post-holder’s clinical supervisor. The post holder will work closely with the locality CMHT, providing out-patient as well as in-patient services in New Craigs Hospital in Inverness. The successful candidate will be supported to attend clinical teaching, group meetings, and CPD at New Craigs Hospital.
Applicants must have completed at least four year’s full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent) at least two of which will be in a relevant specialty training programme, or have equivalent experience.
This post is offered as 10PA’s per week. An increase to SPA will be considered and is negotiable. Research proposals which are in line with service requirements would be considered favourably. There is no on call activity associated with this post. Applications for flexible working will be considered.
