Post: Senior Consultant (Cloud Network and Security)
Grade: 8A
Salary scale: £45446 to £51883.
Type: Permanent.
As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland’s (NSS) mission is to enable and support the delivery of better health and better care, working in partnership. We do this by providing a range of specialised support services that enable NHS Boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care.
As part of the Digital and Security (DaS) Strategic Business Unit supporting NSS and the wider NHS, Health Boards, Scottish Government and other Public Services across Scotland, The Cloud Engineering & Operations function are looking to recruit 2 Principal Engineers to join the expanding Cloud Engineering team.
The expansion is driven by an exciting transformation as part of the DaS platform modernisation programme developing a world class Enterprise cloud capability to meet the increasing demand for digital services to services our customers throughout Scotland.
Responsibilities
• Application Development on Azure
• Azure networking, firewalls and load balancers
• Platform Automation and DevOps on Azure
• Technical leadership in architecture, development and deployment of Azure based solutions
• Develop IP, best practices and knowledge assets to be re-usable and shared across NSS community
• Embed DevOps practices and automation into delivery
• Actively contribute to a culture of high performance, innovation and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
• Hands on experience in developing and deploying enterprise solutions, with Microsoft technology stack preferred
• Hands on experience in designing and deploying solutions on Microsoft Azure platform
• Experience with public cloud platforms, including design and implementation
• Appropriate certifications in Azure and associated technologies (desirable)
General Requirements
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services, including understanding their capabilities and limitations and being able to architect and deliver solutions leveraging various Azure platform services
• Experience in implementing applications using cloud platforms
• Experienced in working in agile/devops environment with continuous integration and continuous deployment and application lifecycle management
• Experience working with the following toolsets (or similar)
o Jenkins
o Gitlab
o Terraform
o Windows Server
