This post is based within the Community Stroke Therapy Team based at Clutha House although scheduled to move to Belmont Centre, Stobhill Hospital Campus on 30th January 2020.
You will provide a specialised clinical psychology service to clients of the Community Stroke Therapy Team, providing highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. You will be required to utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service and provide clinical and professional supervision to trainees undertaking Doctoral training. You will also be required to undertake service development within your own area of practice. It is essential you have post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology. You should also have further post-doctoral training, research and study across a range of areas, including advanced clinical skills. Registration with the HCPC as a clinical psychologist is also essential.
The hours of this post are worked Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
