?????NHS Tayside is the fourth largest teaching health board in Scotland. The Theatre/Anaesthesia Service offers newly appointed staff a first class induction / competency package designed by the Senior Clinical Team. We also support achievement of the National Competencies for Anaesthetic Assistants and Recovery Practitioners, which enables development of skill competency and experience.

NHS Tayside is a Values Based Organisation and has adopted the values of NHS Scotland, which are at the heart of everything we do:

  • Dignity and Respect
  • Openness, Honest and Responsibility
  • Quality and Teamwork
  • Care and Compassion

We are recruiting into numerous theatre positions and offer this as an excellent opportunity to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team within the operating departments in NHS Tayside. As part of the team, you will work collaboratively to promote the delivery of evidence based patient care.

We deliver theatre services across our three hospital sites within NHS Tayside; Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Perth Royal Infirmary in Perth and Stracathro Hospital in Angus. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to vary their workplace within the area covered by NHS Tayside, allowing experience to be built in different specialties and teams.

Applicants must have good communication skills and demonstrate the ability to assess, plan and implement care for perioperative patients.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the NMC register or equivalent (HPC ODP NVQ Level 3 / Diploma) and demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development relevant to previous experience.

Informal enquiries to:

Anne Couser, Lead Nurse for Theatres, Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pre-Assessment. Telephone 01382 660111 bleep 4386

These are full-time and part time opportunities (hours to be discussed at interview), with a commitment to day / night rotation if required by clinical area.

A generous relocation package may be available in some circumstances.  Limited hospital accommodation may be available at Ninewells Hospital on a first-come-first-served basis.

Tayside occupies an enviable location on the east coast of Scotland with rivers, hills, mountains and rolling countryside right on our doorstep, as well as vibrant urban areas. The V&A Museum of Design recently opened in Dundee and is an international centre of design and the centre piece of Dundee’s innovative new waterfront development.  This, along with Tayside’s great links to all other major cities in Scotland, means the area can offer employees plenty of choice when it comes to both accommodation and opportunities of things to do in the pursuit of the right work-life balance.

NHS Tayside is committed to equality and diversity and welcomes applicants from all sections of the community.

Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email.   Please check your emails regularly, including your junk/spam folder.
