We are looking for a pharmacy technician to join the pharmacy team in Oncology and Haematology. You will be working in a demanding environment requiring you to deal with complex and high-risk medicines. It is challenging but rewarding!


As a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Technician in the area you will co-ordinate and prioritise the daily workload, accurately dispense, issue and check prescriptions and carry out all the necessary ward technical services to ensure patients have access to the necessary medicines at the correct time.  Working closely with the Specialist Clinical Pharmacists and the oncology and haematology multidisciplinary teams, you will be a key contact for pharmacy related technical issues and advice in relation to the availability of medicines. You will be required to train and direct the work of Pharmacy Technicians, Students and Support Workers within your area of responsibility.  You will also be expected to contribute to the future development of the Clinical Pharmacy Technician role.

You should be a registered Pharmacy Technician with post qualification experience.  You should also hold a recognised Pharmacy Technician Accuracy Checking Qualification or be willing to work towards this.  Placement on the band will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
