The posts available are for 2 part time 5 PA posts. These innovative posts will be split between Glasgow Dental Hospital (GDH) and University Hospital Crosshouse (UHC).
Duties at GDH will be split between the subspecialties of Periodontics, Endodontics and Fixed & Removable Prosthodontics. The subspecialty sessions will be allocated depending on Departmental clinical need and, to a degree, the applicant’s interest and experience. The Department will also be introducing Tier 2 referral clinics, staffed by Specialty Dentists, to manage non-specialist referrals, the post holder will be expected to participate in training of specialty dentist staff and provide Consultant advice as required.
The post holders will be expected to function largely independently and to be capable of carrying out aspects of Restorative Dentistry whilst working within their competence. The post holders will adhere to the principles of good practice as laid down by the GDC.
