An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and dynamic experienced Registered Nurse to support the leadership of the nursing teams within the Emergency Department at Victoria Hospital and Queen Margaret Hospital Minor Injuries Unit.  As a Senior Charge Nurse, you will be committed to continuous professional development and possess strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to apply these effectively in a dynamic environment.  As an experienced emergency medicine nurse, you will provide strong clinical, theoretical and practical leadership to the Emergency Department Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Teams, whilst promoting a collaborative partnership with multi-disciplinary colleagues both within and out with the departments.  You will provide a high standard of nursing care and be able to demonstrate that you can deliver change through effective visible clinical leadership.   Candidates will be able to evidence their ability to inspire and motivate the team and have a passion for providing safe, highly effective, person centred care.   As a Senior Charge Nurse, you should also manage and develop the performance of the Emergency Department Nursing team and contribute to the delivery of NHS Fife’s organisational objectives.

To fulfil the requirements of the post, you should be an NMC registered nurse with the relevant wealth and breadth of experience within Emergency Medicine / Emergency Department setting and be able to describe expert clinical and professional practice developed through practical experience and theoretical knowledge.  You will be able to demonstrate your ability to provide a high standard of nursing care and your ability to manage change and performance through effective leadership. Applicants should be proactive, highly motivated and have the ability to lead in a challenging and dynamic environment.  This role is pivotal in raising clinical standards of care for patients and managing local and national agendas and as such, you will work very closely with our existing Senior Charge Nurse to deliver the key aspects of these agendas.  You will also contribute to the wider Emergency Care Directorate by supporting with the Duty Charge Nurse role out of hours.  You should be educated to degree level with post graduate qualifications relating to Emergency Care and Leadership, or have appropriate extensive experience.
