We are looking for a therapist who has well developed skills in dysphagia and communication management of those who have undergone surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy for Head and Neck Cancer. Supported by Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapists the post holder will link with joint Otolaryngology/Oncology, Maxillofacial/Oncology clinics and Nursing/AHP Wellbeing clinics, and provide in and outpatient services for individuals with a diagnosis of Head & Neck Cancer, both within the acute setting and across Tayside community services. There are well established links with specialist nursing posts who support the MDT.
The post holder will work as part of the supportive SLT team who deliver services across Ninewells Hospital .You will also work closely with the other senior/team lead SLTs with regard to audit, service development, innovation and strategy. The Adult Acquired SLT Service is a Tayside wide service and has regular local and regional meetings. Professional development is supported and encouraged and we provide separate line management and clinical supervision to ensure strong clinical performance.
Travel across Tayside will be required
Dysphagia qualification at intermediate or advance level required and experience of using video fluoroscopy and FEES is preferred.
You must be HCPC registered.
