NHS Ayrshire & Arran have led the way in Scotland for pharmacy and prescribing developments with the introduction of electronic prescribing; the large number of pharmacist prescribers working in secondary and primary care to support person-centred care in accordance with Achieving Excellence in Pharmaceutical Care and our clinical service to A&E and the Combined Assessment Units (CAU).  

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in one of our rotational posts.  Our Band 6 rotational programme provides the opportunity to gain experience in primary care and a range of hospital pharmacy services: clinical (combined assessment units, mental health, oncology, medicine and surgery), dispensary, aseptic dispensing and medicines information.  You will rotate between general practices in Ayrshire, University Hospital Ayr, University Hospital Crosshouse and Woodland View, Ayrshire Central Hospital to ensure you get as broad an experience of each service/specialty as possible. 

 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as is the ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.

You will receive training and support to achieve the NES Stage II Vocational Training qualification. 

 

A car owner/driver is essential. 

Hours: 37.5 per week. You will be required to participate in departmental rotas including on call, weekends and extended hours.
