We are delighted to announce exciting opportunities available within the mental health services, in NHS Forth Valley. We are looking for applicants who have an interest to work as an activity coordinator within our rehabilitation ward Russell Park.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, caring and compassionate individuals who are keen to work within a mental health inpatient setting.   The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and should possess good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).  

The role of the Activity Coordinator is wide and varied and will support the delivery of care under the direction of registered mental health nurses.  The main focus of your job will be to develop, implement and evaluate an activities programme of social, recreational and therapeutic activities.  This will be a combination of a range of activities to provide group and individual sessions which promote physical, social and mental well-being. This will be provided within the ward and wider community to facilitate social inclusion and community integration with all other sectors.   Please see the job description for further details of the role.

The successful candidate should be committed to the provision of high quality, patient focused care; have a flexible approach to service needs and a genuine interest in working with patients within a mental health setting.  The candidates should have a commitment to the welfare of adults with mental health issues and their needs in terms of quality of life and rehabilitation.  The individuals require to have the ability to work independently and effectively as part of a care team and be confident enough to use own initiative.   Previous experience within health and care settings is required.
