The SNAHFS is based at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank and provides advanced heart failure therapies including cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support for Scotland. The hospital also hosts 2 other national Services - the Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCs) and the Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit (SPVU) with a ward dedicated to the care of the patients from all three National Services. A full range of diagnostic, outpatient and inpatient facilities are provided on site. Additionally, the Golden Jubilee National Hospital is the regional tertiary centre for cardiac surgery and complex electrophysiology for the West of Scotland and one of two regional PCI centres.
A subspecialty interest in transplant medicine and mechanical circulatory support is essential.
