Podiatrist Specialising in General Practice

Band 6 - £31,800 - £39,169 pro rata

Plus £1,043 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata

 We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Podiatrist who specialises in general practice to join our enthusiastic, innovative and progressive department.  We currently have 3.6 WTE podiatrists who specialise in General Practice along with one  Extended Scope Practitioner and one developmental advanced podiatrist.  You will be joining a team committed to delivering the very best podiatric care, encompassing all aspect including biomechanics, diabetes, wound management, nail surgery and new patient assessment clinics.  We deliver care based upon need, via care pathways incorporating short-term intensive treatment, minor surgery to longer-term care.  The Service is fully integrated providing both primary and secondary care from modern, well-equipped surgeries.  The Podiatry department is based in the Western Isles Hospital, an 80 bed rural general hospital.

We are looking for a skilled Podiatrist with post graduate experience who is competent in the delivery of a high standard of care in a variety of settings and in all aspects of podiatry management.  You must be well organised, self motivated with a flexible approach.  We are remote and rural and on the cutting edge of innovation: if you have ideas about service developments or new approaches, we want to hear them!

 

The Podiatry Department is committed to recognising and developing the skills of its staff and we encourage all the team to undertake training both locally and on the mainland. On site we have an excellent Clinical Skills Centre, Surgical Skills Laboratory, post-graduate library and orthotics laboratory visits. HCPC registration is essential. A car owner is essential as we provide care in rural clinics, residential homes and domiciliary visits.

 

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
