Job Advert

We are excited to advertise a new Occupational Therapy post within Glenrothes Community Health Team. Working on a daily basis with colleagues in a newly developing Multidisciplinary Team you will be based in secondary care and responsible for managing a caseload of complex/highly complex clients experiencing mental health challenges many of whom also have co-morbidities.  You will be responsible for ensuring they receive specialist Occupational Therapy assessments as well as other evidence based interventions.  You will be expected to work autonomously, being able to manage and prioritise the many clinical, leadership and non clinical demands placed on you.

On a daily basis you will be managed by the Community Mental Health Team Leader and work as part of the Community Mental Health Team, but you will also work with the Head Occupational Therapist to ensure that all Occupational Therapy clinical systems and processes are of high quality. You will be involved in delegation, monitoring and reviewing of clinical work and associated tasks to junior Occupational Therapy staff. You will professionally supervise other Occupational Therapists and support staff and will be a practice placement educator for Occupational Therapy students who are on placement within the service.

Both the Community Mental Health Team and the Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service are committed to personal development through the provision of protected CPD time, in service training and a comprehensive induction programme. The Occupational Therapy Service uses a College of Occupational Therapists endorsed clinical supervision training programme and the AHP Mental Health Advanced Practitioner Framework, all of which are recorded and reviewed through the TURAS Appraisal system.
