Policy Advisor to the Board Chief Executives Group

 

Secondment (on existing terms and conditions) – 24-month secondment opportunity (1 post)

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NHSScotland Board Chief Executives Group’s Executive Support Team as Policy Advisor.  This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant contribution to the delivery of safe, effective, person-centred and high-quality health and wellbeing for the population of Scotland.

 

As a key member of the Executive Support Team, applicants will be educated to degree level or equivalent, and have extensive experience and knowledge of the health and social care policy landscape in Scotland.  As Policy Advisor, applicants will use their positive attitude and knowledge to identify and analyse health and social care policy developments and identify opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with external professionals, organisations and agencies, as well as drafting and developing concise, high-quality and evidence-based policy positions.

 

Applicants should be able to work on their own initiative together with excellent communication and relationship skills, and experience in policy development to proactively and effectively respond to current and emerging policy. This post will work across the Board Chief Executives and Board Chairs Groups to enable co-ordination and cohesion, acting as a key interface between the functional groups and the BCE group.

 

This is an excellent career development opportunity. The successful applicant will be expected to make a significant contribution to the management and leadership agenda in NHS Scotland and will gain significant exposure to Board Chief Executives and Executive Directors.

•This opportunity is offered on a fixed term secondment basis and applicants should ensure in advance that they would be released to take on this work if appointed.

•Salary - we expect this post to operate at a AfC Band 7 level.
