NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) provides a range of specialised support services, of which some require digital solutions, that enable NHS Boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care. Scotland has some of the best health service data in the world and we work in partnership with NHS Boards, hospitals, GP’s and Local Authorities to provide IT systems to support local decision makers and national policy and guidance.  We provide systems to support activities aimed at protecting all the people of Scotland from infectious and environmental hazards.
We seek 2 self-motivated enthusiastic IT developers to join our small established friendly developer team, who work within a centrally located modern office, and who are supportive of each other on a day to day basis.  You should keep up to date with new technology and frameworks.  You will be involved in design, development, maintenance and support of the best possible solutions for new and existing software products used throughout Scotland and the UK.
Applicants should be educated to degree level in an IT related subject or have equivalent experience in a technical development role on large scale system solutions.   You will have proven experience in a technical IT role, with strong SQL Server skills plus web development experience. You will also have proven experience in:
•    SQL Server (including complex SQL stored procedures)
•    C#
•    ASP.Net and MVC
•    HTML5/CSS3 / JavaScript
•    Entity Framework (preferably 6)

You will have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work with health professionals in NSS, NHS boards and Local Authorities. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, and a high degree of accuracy. The ability to maintain strict confidentiality is essential.
You should have the ability to work across many different projects with different priorities, managing the conflicting demands that this entails, negotiating and influencing customers and suppliers in terms of timescales and deadlines.
Our Job Descriptions are generic for developer roles.  Please refer to the Person Specification for the specific skill sets required for the roles

Our benefits package includes pension scheme, comprehensive range of work life balance policies, occupational health services, learning resource centres and discounted leisure, financial and shopping benefits.
