Scottish Graduate Entry Medicine (ScotGEM) Year One Generalist Clinical Mentor (GCM) 2 vacancies

2 Clinical Sessions Paid at Salaried GP Rate and 4 Academic Sessions Paid at Associate Advisor Rate.

Are you an experienced GP who can provide credible clinical mentorship?  Do you have an interest in medical education?

  The Scottish Graduate Entry Medicine (ScotGEM) programme was commissioned by the Scottish Government with a specific remit to widen access to medicine and promote generalist medical careers especially in rural areas. A self-motivated, practicing GP, you will work 2 clinical sessions per week in a ScotGEM approved Fife host GP Practice and 4 academic sessions allowing you to effectively support students, provide clinical case-based learning and support students in Clinical Interactions Course (CLIC) teaching.


We are looking for an experienced GP to be an enthusiastic advocate for ScotGEM, promoting its ethos to students and amongst colleagues in order to positively promote rural and generalist practice. The post holder will provide clinical learning one day a week in a GP practice and one day a week in the University. Furthermore the post holder will be able to effectively support students, facilitate case based learning, support foundation science and specialist teaching through joint learning events, vertical theme related learning and contributing towards the Clinical Interactions Course (CLIC). The post holder will be employed for 4 academic sessions and 2 clinical sessions working within Fife.
