Job Advert

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dietitian to join our multi-disciplinary Weight Management Team. This post will work alongside psychology, physiotherapy and dietetics in addition to local council health coaching staff. There will be a specific focus on development and implementation of an enhanced pathway of dietetic care in the community setting for women with gestational diabetes (GDM), with follow up care to prevent development of type 2 diabetes in the future.  The post holder will have responsibility for provision of groups, clinics, assessments and training and continuing development of the NHS Lothian Weight Management Service. It is an exciting opportunity, for a dietitian who has a keen interest and experience in weight management, diabetes and diabetes prevention to become a valued member of the wider multidisciplinary team. This post is of two permanent posts in GDM, the other being part time (0.6wte).

You would be expected to participate in student training (A, B and C placements) and provide clinical training and supervision for other dietitians and other staff within the team.   We are strongly committed to training and support for CPD and clinical governance, with a supervision framework, annual appraisals, peer support and training opportunities to further develop clinical skills.

For informal enquiries please contact Laurie Eyles/Audrey McGregor, Weight Management Team Leads on 0131 537 9169.

If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
