An exciting opportunity has arisen for a RNLD Band 5 Staff Nurse within Falkirk Learning Disability Team. Two Band 5 Staff nurse posts, 1x 37.5 hours, 1x 32 hours.

The post is based within the Falkirk Learning Disability Team. The post holder will be expected to promote the philosophy of care within the service, display expert nursing skills, be aware of current trends in learning disability nursing and promote innovative practice.  The post holder must be willing to increase their personal knowledge through undertaking continuous professional development and contribute to the personal development of junior staff. The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care.  The post holder will work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team, users, carers, families and a range of agencies.

Under the direction of the Charge Nurse / Senior Charge Nurse the post holder will have delegated responsibility for the management of their own caseload. The post holder will be required to support and supervise junior staff within the nursing team.

Previous experience would be advantageous although the post is open to newly qualified RNLD nurses
