This is an exciting time to join our team, as the Women & Children’s Directorate are seeking a Midwifery Clinical Educator to work as an autonomous practitioner, alongside the Maternity PEF to enhance the clinical learning environment.  The successful candidate will provide on site support, educational input and development opportunities for all staff. It is an exciting opportunity to enhance and influence the clinical learning environment for all midwifery and nursing staff and learners in the Women and Children’s Directorate and on occasion provide support to other areas.

A key focus will be to provide and strengthen the ongoing links between educational and clinical institutions which will enhance the learning opportunity whilst fulfilling the organisations staff governance responsibilities. 

The post will be based primarily within The Women and Children’s Directorate but the successful candidate will also work closely with the Practice Development Unit.

We are a friendly team who enjoy challenging ourselves both in and out of work and we benefit from having positive working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team.

NHS Forth Valley provides care for approximately 3000 births annually and covers a large geographical area composed of beautiful rural and urban areas.  We support midwifery placements for students learning at Edinburgh Napier University and West of Scotland University as well as students undertaking elective placements from other universities.

We are ideally situated between Glasgow and Edinburgh with good transport links to both nearby.
