The caseload will include patients in clinics or at home, community hospital inpatients and care home residents and dietetic input will be varied including nutritional support, GI, tube feeding, texture modification.

The post holder will provide supervision and support to band 5 and band 3 staff, offering the opportunity for leadership development.

The post holder must have excellent communication and organisational skills, an ability to deliver high quality education, be committed to personal development and be a strong team player.

Experience in community dietetics or an outreach service is highly desirable but not essential, as training and development will be given with the opportunity to attend in-house and formal training.

The Forth Valley Clinical Dietetic Team is a friendly and proactive team providing inpatient and outpatient services within Forth Valley Royal Hospital, 4 Community Hospitals and within Community Services.  This post will be part of a team of 34 Dietitians providing a wide variety of clinical specialities including critical care, renal, stroke, paediatrics, diabetes, IBS, home enteral feeding along with 5 dietetic assistants and an administrative team.

Shadowing and development opportunities exist within these other clinical specialities and we strongly support shared learning opportunities within the team.

All team members are expected to actively contribute to departmental activities e.g. student training, department meetings and when necessary provide some cover to other parts of the service, including the department duty service.

This post will be based in Stirling Community Hospital, with the potential for some services to be delivered from other NHS Forth Valley sites and for some remote working.  NHS Forth Valley is centrally located in Scotland with good transport links, easy access to major cities and spectacular countryside.
