An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic registered mental health nurse to join our Mental Health teams within NHS Forth Valley Prison Healthcare.

The applicant will demonstrate a sound knowledge and experience of delivering high quality person centred care whilst working in a complex multi-disciplinary setting.

The ability to co-ordinate the healthcare team in a multi-disciplinary manner is essential.

The successful candidate will have experience in developing practice in line with local and national policy.

This Senior Mental Health Nurse will carry a designated caseload and provide assessment, intervention and support to individuals within custody with mental health issues in the context of multi-disciplinary mental health service.

We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse, with the ability to work autonomously undertaking mental health and risk assessments.

  • Experience of delivering psychologically informed interventions is essential.
  • Experience working in a community or forensic mental health setting would be advantageous.
  • Ability to lead and develop innovative practice.

These posts will be based between the three prison sites; HMPYOI Polmont, HMP Glenochil & HMP Cornton Vale.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
