Clinical Development Fellowship (CDF)

Urology

Fixed term from 7th August 2024 for 12 months

Full time - 40 hrs

Salary Scale - £40,995 - £64,461 per annum

Looking for a new and exciting challenge? Then think about working in NHS Forth Valley in the heart of Scotland.

Applications are invited from trainee doctors with an interest in urology to apply for the position of Clinical Development Fellow (CDF) in Urology. These posts would suit applicants who would like to have further experience in urology prior to applying for higher surgical training in urology, or for those with a urology interest prior to core surgical training.

These exciting posts will work clinically in the Urology Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.   In addition, as a CDF, you will have 6 hours per week of protected development time and 2 hours of in-house training. The remaining period will be distributed between clinical work in urology on the ward, clinics and theatre, and participation in the non-resident urology middle grade on call rota.

The appointment will be on a fixed term and full-time basis (40 hrs) and remuneration will be determined by the pay and conditions of hospital medical and dental staff (NHS Circular: PCS (DD) 2023/01).

The Urology Department functions as a highly integrated multi-disciplinary team with all members contributing to patient care, and this appointment will play an important role in the continuing development and redesign of clinical pathways and service redesign in urology.

You can look forward to a warm welcome and strong support from colleagues.  Our hospital is situated in the heart of Scotland, nestled against the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and close to vibrant towns that are richly endowed with excellent cultural and sporting facilities, offering good transport links to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
