The overall aim of our service is to support people to live in their own home in ways that are responsive to individual needs and which encourages the individual to fully develop their potential.

The Team Leader will actively participate in co-ordinating and leading a team of support workers providing person-centred support to the highest possible standards within a locally defined service area.

Whilst in general the Team Leader will have defined responsibility for a local service, there may be requirements to deliver support within other areas of the overall service which comprises service-user’s homes within the Falkirk/Stirling District areas.

The Team Leader will be responsible, with the Service Management Team, for ensuring the delivery of agreed services, to a standard that meets or exceeds the expectations of service users, organisational requirements, contractual agreements with purchasing authorities and recognised bodies such as the Care Inspectorate.

In conjunction with the Registered Local Service Manager you will be responsible for the supervision, support and development of the staff team and in conjunction with service-users, for the development and implementation of agreed care & support plans.

You will also be required to actively participate as an integral member of the team providing person-centred care and support to the highest possible standards, in order to improve the quality of life of each individual service-user, both within their home and as part of their local community. Above all you must understand and be able to demonstrate an ethos of dignity and respect and to share in NHS Forth Valley’s six identified values which contribute to successful care delivery in the behaviours you display.

The position demands considerable flexibility in terms of work patterns and can include shift work, weekend work, and sleepover duties for which an additional allowance is payable.

A relevant qualification such as Learning Disability Registered Nurse (Registered Nurse with NMC), or equivalent e.g. Dip. Social Work, to allow registration with the Scottish Social Services Council is essential, together with the ability to manage a team of staff.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.  More information on this scheme can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk

In line with best practice arrangements, service users will be involved in interview and selection procedures.
