Job Advert

We are excited to be recruiting to the Senior Charge Nurse position in our Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit (IPCU) at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

This role has responsibility for the leadership of the IPCU, ensuring a high standard of clinical practice, coordinated multi-professional collaboration and highly person-centred mental health nursing. Applicants will be able to demonstrate highly developed mental health nursing skills, ideally with recent experience in an inpatient setting, and have a sound understanding of operational management of teams or departments. A key characteristic of the successful candidate will be strong leadership and the ability to inspire others.

The role of the Senior Charge Nurse (SCN) blends operational management and clinical leadership. The SCN reports directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) for acute inpatient mental health services and contributes to the delivery of services within the acute Mental Health Unit (MHU), including resource management, risk assessment and maximising patient flow.

Joining the leadership team within the MHU will provide the successful applicant with a range of experiences and an opportunity to contribute to the development of our inpatient service

We welcome applications from Registered Mental Health Nurses with post registration experience who are committed to and get excited by improving services and supporting staff wellbeing and who love collaborating with others to deliver the very best care to those we serve.
