We have a unique opportunity for a pharmacist to join our friendly, enthusiastic and supportive pharmacy team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. Forth Valley Royal Hospital is situated in Larbert, near Falkirk with excellent road and rail links from Glasgow and Edinburgh.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to make a difference and contribute to transforming hospital services and improving patient outcomes. You will need to be flexible, organised, work well within a team and have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude.  You need to enjoy working in a busy challenging environment. You will be a well-rounded practitioner, having completed or being close to completing your Post-registration Foundation Training. Being qualified as an independent prescriber would be desirable although training opportunities are available for post-graduate study.

The post holder would have a specialist interest in endocrine, which would allow for development opportunities within this area. Day to day working would be on our endocrine and cardiology wards, but there would also be opportunity to gain experience in other medical specialities including gastro, respiratory, and infectious diseases.

The pharmacy service within NHS Forth Valley is highly regarded across the organisation with staff working closely with in multi-disciplinary teams.  The clinical pharmacist team is strongly supported by our excellent clinical pharmacy technician teams. The department is forward thinking and constantly seeking improvement. We have many opportunities for personal development. The Pharmacy Department makes use of modern technologies including robotics.  We have implemented Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA) throughout the health board, keeping us at the forefront of healthcare provision.

We are a friendly, dedicated and supportive team. We have a weekly cake club and have social events throughout the year for all to enjoy.

Flexible or part-time working patterns will be considered. The postholder will be expected to contribute to the on-call, weekend and public holiday rotas.
