This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. 

The MDM Co-ordinator will work with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff in cancer multidisciplinary teams within Lothian and in the South East Scotland region.

To co-ordinate regular multidisciplinary team meetings (MDMs) for patients diagnosed within the named cancer specialties to ensure that the journey of each cancer patient runs smoothly and is progressed in a seamless manner.

When required, to track the progress of each cancer patient.

To record key data items to assist in monitoring the care of patients.

To ensure that follow-up action is implemented and that information is relayed to the patient and the GP within the time frame stipulated.

To ensure that the data to support effective and timely management of patients is available for consideration at the regular meetings.

To ensure that treatment plans are recorded in the medical notes.
