NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is the largest NHS Board in Scotland with our 39,000 staff providing services to a population of 1.2 million people resident in our area. We also provide specialist services on behalf of the West of Scotland for the population of 2.7 million people and provide a number of national services which are accessed from across Scotland.

This is an exciting time to join as the Director of Allied Health Professions with the new National Integrated Health and Social Care Workforce Plan and, at the same time, our own transformational healthcare strategy, ‘Moving Forward Together’, is well underway to ensure delivery of better health and healthcare outcomes for the population of Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

We are looking to recruit a Director of Allied Health Professions (AHP) to provide professional leadership, advice and guidance in the delivery of continuous improvement within the AHP services.  The role will include responsibility for all aspects of pre and post graduate education for the 10 AHP professions employed by the Board. This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries, in partnership and in collaboration with a range of colleagues in the delivery of continuous improvement in the clinical performance of AHP professions across the six Health and Social Care Partnerships (HSCPs) and the Acute Directorate/Sector legislation/regulation, corporate governance and NHS Policy, procedures and legislation.

Through clinical and academic achievement and experience to date, the successful candidate will be required to be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of leading significant change and the ability to demonstrate a high level of competence in professional leadership, project and people management.  The successful candidate will be familiar with strategic planning/policy development, partnership working and dealing with an extensive portfolio with competing demands.

It is essential that you are a registered practitioner on the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Register.
