Trainee Technical Assistant 20hrs

A vacancy has arisen within the ASDU (Area Sterilisation & Disinfection Unit) at FCH for a trainee technician. The core activity of a decontamination unit is the decontamination, disassembly, assembly, packaging and sterilisation of re-usable medical devices & processing of Endoscopes. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working. ASDU is an extremely busy department and at times can be physically demanding.  You will undertake all tasks appropriate in all aspects of the operation of equipment/machinery and policies/procedures within ASDU & Endoscopy which is based in FVRH.

Hours of Work: - Monday to Friday 5-9pm. There will be on occasion a requirement to participate in weekend working 8am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday. The post holder will have a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.

Rate of Pay: Agenda for Change Band 2 progressing to Band 3 once training is complete

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Standard Police Act Disclosure Scotland Check.
