Job Advert

Are you passionate about quality, safe care, clinical governance? If so, this is your opportunity to join the Forth Valley Quality Team in a post that fulfils a vital strategic responsibility for clinical governance within NHS Forth Valley.

We’re looking for someone able to contribute to developing an environment and culture that improves health, safety and security of patients, service users and staff, someone with a track record in developing clinical governance strategy and policies and can find creative and innovative solutions to clinical governance challenges.

This is a key role creating and providing assurance that a comprehensive, effective and accountable system of clinical governance is in place to ensure patient safety and organisational learning.

You will manage all of the elements of clinical governance that ensure that key objectives are met and achieve this through the engagement of our front line clinical and care workforce and maintaining effective, positive relationships and collaborations with key partners across our health and care system.

Ability to operate effectively under pressure in a complex, ambiguous and fast moving clinical and care environment with the challenges and risks of potential litigation, adverse publicity and reduced public confidence in the service is essential.

You’ll ideally have experience of working in a similar role and in a clinical environment. You’ll have extensive, in-depth knowledge of all elements of clinical governance including relevant standards and legislation, quality control and assurance, quality improvement and clinical risk management.

We are also looking for someone who can demonstrate having led and managed an effective team and understands how to build trust and work interdependently with other teams to share responsibility for achieving common goals.

The post-holder will be expected to gather, analyse, interpret and present complex and potentially sensitive or contentious information, with excellent report writing skills.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Standard Police Act Disclosure Scotland Check.
