Deputy Manager (BMS 3) Clinical Chemistry

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, Health and Care Professions Council registered Healthcare Scientists with experience working at team leader (BMS 2) level or above in a Clinical Chemistry hospital laboratory to lead the Clinical Chemistry department based in the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.

You will hold an MSc in Biomedical Science or Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Science or equivalent. Formal evidence of highly specialist knowledge of a range of discipline specific procedures and management experience and knowledge appropriate to the post is required.

You must be familiar with standards set by UKAS and have experience of quality management. You should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have experience of problem solving. Active participation in CPD and further training e.g. leadership skills are both supported and encouraged.

You will be responsible for day to day management of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory Service including responsibilities for quality standards and providing specialist advice to service users and colleagues.  You will also be responsible for line management, service development and training and you will deputise for the Department Manager as required. You will be qualified to MSc level or equivalent in Biomedical Science and have extensive knowledge and experience in Clinical Chemistry.
