This is an exciting time within NHSGGC our ‘Moving Forward Together’ programme will support the transition from hospital based services to more community based and local services. Our Quality Strategy Board including HSCPs, Public Health Strategy and eHealth Strategy are also key enablers for change.


We are looking to appoint an inspirational, dynamic and innovative individual to provide nursing leadership to help deliver the Board Corporate and Quality Objectives.


The successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Team and is the expert Nursing and Midwifery advisory resource to the MDT Leadership and Management Team. Reporting to and working closely with the Nurse Director the post holder will also work closely with the Deputy Medical Director – Corporate and Deputy Nurse Director and Deputy Medical Director for Acute Services to implement a range of programmes and initiatives designed to support the delivery of high quality health care.


This role demands a strategic and experienced leader who is able to bring clarity to complexity and the ability to build effective partnerships to deliver improvements in services that meet the evolving, and increasingly complex, healthcare needs of the diverse communities we serve across Greater Glasgow and Clyde.


We are looking for someone who possesses critical influencing and professional leadership skills to lead and direct an ongoing programme of change across the organisation. The successful candidate will take a key role leading and implementing our Quality Strategy across Greater Glasgow and Clyde and ensure the continuous development of a governance framework and set of clinical standards which ensures the highest level of patient safety and delivers consistency, equity and continuity of healthcare across the Board. 


This high profile opportunity requires significant senior nurse leadership and management experience with the proven ability to inspire the confidence of NHSGGC‘s  nursing and midwifery staff at a time of unprecedented change for the organisation.


Educated to minimum Master’s Degree level you will come with extensive experience of successfully shaping the strategic direction and redesign of clinical services within and across complex scenarios.


This unique and highly visible role requires the vision, political acumen, tactical skills and resilience to operate against a background of multiple competing demands.
