The Diagnostics Directorate is looking for expressions of interest for applications for the post of Scientific Director of Clinical Physics & Bioengineering. This post is a key senior management appointment for the Directorate and the successful candidate will provide a high level of visible clinical and scientific leadership across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
The post holder will play a major role in the development and implementation of the Directorate’s strategic planning with regard to both the clinical and University links in Research & Development.
As the largest department in Scotland you will have a significant influence in developing the scientific strategy both for NHS Scotland and the UK.
You will be a clinical scientist with significant and extensive advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of physics, combined with senior managerial experience to oversee all clinical / scientific service activities in which the department is involved.
Essential requirement:
First or upper second class honours degree in Physics or allied subject.
Recognised MSc in Medical Physics and a Dip IPEM in Physical Sciences in Medicine or equivalent experience
A PhD degree or equivalent experience
Current State Registration as a Clinical Scientist
