This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will be expected to assist and support our forensic physicians in the forensic medical examination of victims who have been raped or sexually assaulted.  The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will have a key role in the delivery of trauma informed and patient centred care, and will use their advanced practice competencies to deliver clinical care which will meet the holistic – and often complex - care needs of victims of sexual crime.  This new role is the collaboratives response to the Scottish Government Task Force for the Improvement of Services for Victims of Rape and Sexual Assault and therefore is subject to a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010.  The post is gender specific to female applicants. 

*Please note this is a Trainee post, therefore Annex U applies*

For trainees covered by Annex U where the period of training lasts for between one and four years, pay will be as follows:

  • up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;
  • more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified;
  • more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.
  • more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
