NHS Fife has an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacist with a background in hospital, primary care or community pharmacy to be part of an expanding multidisciplinary team to deliver a clinical, patient facing role within GP practices across Fife. 

With the current national development of the GP clinical pharmacist role, this post  supports GP Practices to undertake a range of roles, including medicines reconciliation, discharge letters, acute and repeat prescription requests, undertaking polypharmacy reviews in care homes, patients’ own homes or in a homely setting.
This post would suit a pharmacist with considerable clinical experience, who has supervised or trained other staff, and who would like to continue and develop their career in primary care.

You will have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council.

For band 8a grading, it is essential that you have either a relevant post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy/ prescribing sciences or independent prescriber qualification or are due to complete either within the next 6 months. You will be expected to undertake clinical assessment skills and consultations skills training.

You should have a sound clinical knowledge, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and good IT skills. You should ideally have previous experience of working within primary care.

You should have the ability to travel to different locations across Fife, although you will work in GP practices in North East Fife and Central Fife.
