The successful candidate will be responsible for operational and strategic leadership across all aspects of our colleagues’ journey, creating and supporting a culture where staff feel valued, supported, listened to and involved in decision-making. This isn’t just about being a Director of People which has oversight of all aspects of the People and Culture function, this role is also about delivering Corporate Leadership, where our Executive Team are expected to support our wider organisational priorities to deliver our key areas of focus for 2024/25, which are:

A member of the Corporate Leadership Team, a key player in our Senior Leadership Team and a key attendee at the Board, as an advisor, this critical role is also the Executive Lead for the Board’s Staff Governance Committee, Remuneration Committee and the Culture and Compassionate Leadership Board.

You will be a highly experienced, visible, motivated corporate people leader with extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of workforce management, strategy and policy development. You will have a record of leading and implementing change, driving innovation and improvement and providing inspirational leadership to the wider team and organisation.

This role requires close working with the Board, the Chief Executive, the Chair, our partners and colleagues to ensure NHS Forth Valley continues to develop and implement strong and innovative staff engagement strategies which promote a culture of living our values of care and compassion, dignity and respect, quality and teamwork, openness, honesty, and responsibility, leading with kindness and visible and authentic leadership.
