We are looking for a highly experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to provide professional leadership and clinical practice supervision to our primary care and community advanced practice team. Previous primary care ANP experience and evidence of working in a community setting is essential.

The posts will be based within Forth Valley and the Senior ANP will be expected to travel across Forth Valley to meet the needs of the service.

This role is appropriate for an ANP who is fully qualified and has consolidated knowledge with a breadth of experience. The post holder will have established an advanced knowledge of managing complex care presentations, providing autonomous and expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment to patients. The post holder will provide direct management of patients.

You will also provide education, support and clinical supervision in the development of trainee ANP staff. Experience of assessing training needs, evidence of facilitating learning and teaching is essential.

There will be a need to support trainees with GP practices and within the Training HUB.

Outstanding leadership skills are required to embrace the demands of this dynamic and challenging role. Evidence of a commitment to developing self and others is also essential.

Essential Credentials for band 8a:

  • Significant Advanced Practice Experience in primary and community care
  • HEI accredited clinical courses 
  • HEI accredited Independent Prescribing Qualification - V300
  • HEI accredited Clinical Examination & Advanced History Taking course
  • HEI accredited clinical decision-making module
  • Highly developed leadership skills
  • Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development
  • Prior experience in service and / or role development
  • Paediatric assessment within Primary Care
  • Evidence of commitment to developing others

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
