Mental Health & Learning Disability (MHLD) Services in Forth Valley are a welcoming and forward-thinking place to work, and we place a real emphasis on staff wellbeing at all levels of the organisation. We are currently seeking to recruit into our team a Head of Adult Mental Health & Learning Disabilities for Clackmannanshire & Stirling Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP).
This post has been newly redesigned to support the ongoing development of mental health and learning disability services within the HSCP, and has a wide-ranging operational remit at a senior level. The postholder will directly manage 5 Service Managers covering both inpatient and community mental health services for adults, and will report into the Director of Psychological Services, Mental Health & Learning Disabilities. The remit includes both health and local authority staff and services. In addition to a strong network of operational managers, the postholder will also benefit from professional support from senior colleagues in Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Pharmacy and the Allied Health Professions.
This post will be a key leader within Mental Health & Learning Disabilities (MHLD) Services, which cover both community and inpatient services across several sites. As well as 10 inpatient wards, there are a number of specialist pan-Forth Valley services including Eating Disorders, Psychological Services and Substance Use Services. MHLD Services also include community mental health and learning disability teams based in Clackmannanshire & Stirling. MHLD Services are operationally managed by the Director of Psychological Services, Mental Health & Learning Disabilities, supported by this post, and a team of Service Managers. They are supported by professional leads, and together form the MHLD Senior Leadership Team. The Head of Adult Mental Health & Learning Disabilities will be an integral member of the MHLD Senior Leadership Team, which is cohesive and supportive.
We are keen to recruit someone educated to post-graduate level in a relevant health or management field with significant experience of operational, including financial, management. In addition, as this post oversees the delivery of services by local authority and NHS staff, a good understanding of both health and social care services is a requirement, and a background within a Health & Social Care Partnership would be advantageous. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
