An exciting opportunity has arisen for an engaging and inspiring professional to join NHS Forth Valley as Dementia, Delirium Consultant Nurse/AHP. 

The post-holder will provide professional nursing/AHP leadership, strategic direction, and expert consultancy on all aspects of care for people with Dementia and or Delirium across the patient pathway in NHS Forth Valley and Health & Social Care partnerships and care homes. This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries, in partnership and in collaboration with others including service users, carers, health professionals, social work, third sector staff, care home providers and local education providers.

Candidates must be educated to degree level with evidence of:

  • First level qualification of Registered Mental Nurse/ Allied Health professional and current registration with the NMC
  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Extensive clinical experience in the care and treatment of Older Adults living with Dementia and Delirium.
  • Experience of specialist interventions in the assessment and management of people with Dementia and Delirium.
  • Experience of practice and service development
  • Experience of teaching / education of others
  • Previous leadership experience including operational management of teams
  • A high level of competence and excellence in professional leadership, expert practice, strategic planning / service development, education and training, and research and development
  • A working knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and strategies
